The trick to installing the trim tab is to make sure that the trailing
edge is straight. I did this by holding up something that was straight
along the edge and moving the trim tab so that it lined up. You can't see
it in this picture, but the inboard edge of the E-721 trim tab hinge is
clamped to the E-606PP trim spar of the elevator. |

Once it was lined up, I went ahead and drilled the holes thru the hinge,
installing a cleco as I went and periodically rechecking the trailing edge
alignment. |

All drilled. I then took it apart and deburred the holes in the hinge. I
reinstalled it again with a cleco in every hole for a final check on
alignment. Of course, I don't know what I would have done at this point if
it was wrong. |

Then I removed the hinge pin and took away the trim tab. I removed
clecos and squeezed in rivets one at a time. |

All riveted. Time to check for freedom of movement. (Like I haven't been
doing that all along) |

Moves up and down just fine. |
